I'm stepping away from practicing for a few minutes (or longer, depending on the size of the emerging rabbit hole) to see if I can put words to something. And already I'm struggling because there is a foundation to what I believe to have discovered (or confirmed, or unlocked) this morning, that has been in place in my practicing for some time, that I've yet to use words to describe effectively. And now it's like entering the next level of the game, having an intuitive understanding of how the previous level works, but not being able to explain it to anyone else. It's a bit (or a lot) like the microscope vs the telescope, or the piece of a jigsaw puzzle vs the completed picture; detail vs context, linear vs multidimensional. And this is the larger point that will allow me a starting place, or foundation to build upon (which, I suppose, is why I started this entry). I already know that I find, or discover things intuitively, before they are explained to me. And beyond that, if I don't already have some underlying context in place, nothing explained to me will make much sense. It's why I say that I only have a wide angle lens, needing to continually learn to navigate everything in life with and through it. Or that I often have to walk around the barn a few times to find my way inside. Or that all of my straight lines are circles. You get the picture. And if you don't, I do. And that's the starting point. More to come ....
