You seldom will find these on my posted schedule (they are generally private), but retirement community performances have played a big role in what I do, for going on 2 decades. For a number of reasons, I do very little music therapy related work in nursing and assisted living care these days (compared with a time where most of my daytime hours were spent bouncing from facility to facility). Most of my interaction with seniors is now on the retirement side. Though the center of gravity in the cultural references of seniors have shifted since I began performing for them (a whole generation, actually), it remains in my "comfort zone" window. On my News Blog, I just posted the (You Tube) video playlist from the performance reference in the flyer (pictured above). it's a blessing and a privilege to make connections with people through music.

Another season ...

American Cruise Lines is now dark, for me, until the spring. I remain grateful to Lucia Foster, of the Garfield Center for the Arts (formerly the Prince Theatre) for entrusting me with the initial performances, when American Cruise Lines first came to town, and contracted with the Theatre for entertainment. If you've followed this blog for awhile, you'll know that ACL retained me after those initial bookings; continuing in Chestertown, as well as meeting ships at other Chesepeake Bay ports (Cambridge, St. Michaels, Harve De Grace). It's been a perfect fit, and I'm looking forward entertaining passengers again next season. American Cruise Lines continues to expand, both in fleet size, and itinerary offerings. The American Spirit; the ship that originally came to Chestertown,  navigated Alaskan waters this year, in the Alaska Inside Passage Cruise. That's big news already, but overshadowed a bit by the new Mississippi Riverboat Cruises. So much happening here! Thanks also to Ashley Turney, who came on board as Entertainment Manager for ACL this year. It's been great to work with her to continue to make things happen. We'll see what next year holds. We've been talking ...
